Pretti5 Yourself Before and After a Day in the Sun

No summer day is complete without its radiant main character.

But the unmissable component to the perfect beach day and ocean frolic is also the greatest enemy to your youthful skin.

Take one look at the viral image of Bill McElligott. The viral truck driver of 28 years whose supple skin was exposed to the harsh sun on one side and protected by the shade of his van on the other side is pictured below, and not photoshopped. Perhaps the 28 years is testament that the wrath of the kind sun is a slow one, but rest assured it is there, steadily eroding our skin. But before we send you off with excessive fear, read on to find our Botanic Pretty 5 pre and post sun skin care routines, to protect yourself against the heat!

Prep and cleanse your face in this order:

  1. Hydro-power brightening cleanser
  2. Antioxidant hydrating toning essence
  3. Advanced hyaluronic serum
  4. Intensive water-glow moisturizer

Half an hour before leaving for your sun-filled day, follow by coating your face and neck with two layers of water resistant sunscreen that is SPF30. Be sure to get your ears and emphasis your nose bridge and cheeks. Those pesky areas can be extra sensitive to peeling! Be sure to reapply your sunscreen every two hours and when your face gets sweaty or if you’ve just been in the water.

Sunscreen, while super important for when you’re out in the sun, has pore-clogging effects that aren’t the best for your skin either. In particular, when you’ve been out in the heat and have been sweating and producing natural facial oil, it’s important to cleanse away that post-sun oily, dirty mixture. Start with your hydro-power brightening cleanser and proceed with a double cleanse. To counteract and prevent severe sunburns, apply a thick layer of aloe vera over the affected area, or, my personal favorite, grind up some potatoes that you can coat over burnt areas.

Before going to bed, don’t forget to apply the hydro-rescue repairing night mask. The abundance of anti oxidizing ingredients as well as the neutralizing Vitamin E ingredient in it will leave you feeling refreshed in the morning!
